There, now. That was professional, wasn’t it?

Since I haven’t checked in lately, I thought I’d update with a good old egocentric “here’s what’s been happenin’ with me lately” blog post. So Web 1.0! I’ll try and forego emoticons, l33tspeak, and teenaged angst.

Accomplished:

Uhhh.

*ahem*

1. I made myself try out for one of the two spots on the client counseling team to go compete at ABA regionals, and landed it. w00t! (One.) This means that Tues/Thurs 6:30-9pm team practices are no longer an option, but a requirement. It also means that I’ve got a good case for picking up the extra course credit due upper division students for the following semester’s work. And it means that Taekwondo is not an viable workout option for next semester, unfortunately. This means: Wushu, Yongmudo, Yoga, something else entirely.

2. I’m thiiiiiiiiiis | | close to being able to hold and control a handstand.

3. I got my partner in crime a working script for a comic on time. Obviously, it needed some more hashing as we discussed back and forth, but I actually kept to a schedule! Now to get back to a schedule to make that December 1 deadline. It’s looking pretty awesome. Maybe we’ll post some WIPs once we get the thing done and in and figure out what can go where.

4. Completed more than half my outlines for school. Not quite to schedule, but not terrifyingly behind.

5. My back flexibility is improving by leaps and bounds! This is more than likely due to weekly yoga classes with Wataya at school. I’ve been working on a lot of back bends/wheel poses lately, and I’m definitely feeling more of an arch. A lot of different parts get stretched that aren’t normally, except through these weird and wacky contortions.

6. Read a whopping five books. Granted, one of these was the first volume of the Hikaru No Go manga, and two were picture books for research purposes (see No. 1) but that still means a good 800 pages or so, easy. Just getting out to the library was a pleasure. So was Freakonomics, and noticing that I can still do tsumego (at a basic basic level, but not entirely a n00b)[two].

The above was all done within the past two weeks or so, mind you. More than that and my memory fuzzes. Or rather, balks at remembering and pointedly reminds me that I should be studying.

You know, I’ve seen law students pick up some bad habits over the years, but this I think is a new high.
