chow!

chow!, originally uploaded by sleepychameleon.

One of the fluffiest and…beefy-est…chow chows I’ve ever seen. He looked at me when I pulled out my cell phone camera, and then bored quickly.

I probably could have framed this better.

Skyroom view

Skyroom view, originally uploaded by sleepychameleon.

A few minutes after I took this shot, I saw a seagull floating lazily outside the window on some invisible current and thought, “I wanna do that. It looks like fun.” And in my mind’s eye I saw myself climbing over the table, out the open window, and following the bird on a little jaunt. It felt oddly like an out-of-body experience.

I was also convinced that, if I stepped out the window, I would actually fly.

And that’s when I decided it was a good idea to go home early that day.

Yummy Shoes

Yummy Shoes, originally uploaded by sleepychameleon.

Right. Since I apparently forgot about the size setting, here’s one from the archive that’s decently sized.

Yum yum yum. I have no use for such prettinesses, but I seriously could taste these shoes. (Was also wondering if they had one in peach/cantaloupe at some point? That would have been awesome.)

Right-o. More reading.

FAIL. Apparently, cell phone cameras take photos at larger sizes if you zoom. WTF, mate?

‘S all I got for you today, folks. At least note the widdle paw. Also, Pray that the Demons of Getting Behind on Law School Reading (DoGBoLSR) do not eat me alive this week.

cow!

cow!, originally uploaded by sleepychameleon.

At the Urban Outfitters in San Francisco. I don’t know what it is about me and cow-shaped coin banks, but I am dangerously in love.

I’m going to try and post more off-the-cuff shots from the camera on my phone. I generally have my cell phone on me, anyways, plus the colors came out nicely on this one.

Ok, you know what? I’m going to need to change the layout of this blog so I can post photos from flickr indiscriminately. Because really, it bugs me that the image doesn’t center, and it hangs out beyond the margin of the text.

Carrie Fisher signing

Carrie Fisher signing, originally uploaded by sleepychameleon.

Ok, long overdue, but I’ve been busy. So sue me. (And prepared to get your ass handed back to you on a silver platter with a bill for attorney’s fees. Whut?)

This photo is unpolished in Photoshop, straight from the CF card to pixelprint! Although I do believe it could use some cropping.

Did catch a good moment, though. Two profiles, two different expressions (does this bring to mind Alan Rickman in Galaxy Quest?)….Check out the photostream for the sequel.

Pirates of the Caribbean, Cosplayed

Not a great photo of impressive costumes. I think both these guys were here before–although the guy on the right I think was Legolas a couple years ago. They’ve both gained a bit of weight–that’s the TKD talking for ya–but they’re still pretty good renditions.

BTW, Jack Sparrow’s hat retails for some eighty bucks at Disneyland.

Next is one of my PRIZE SHOTS from this convention–Carrie Fisher, signing for Star Wars fans!

Buddy Jesus from Dogma

Buddy Jesus from Dogma, originally uploaded by sleepychameleon.

After Batman, there’s Buddy Jesus!

Honestly, not much to say about this one. I dig the halo.

Next up: Pirates of the Caribbean!

Batman

Batman, originally uploaded by sleepychameleon.

One of the best Batman costumes I’ve seen–fairly decently designed, material looked good, if not “technically” correct (vinyl cape drapes well but provides little practical use?) and it must be stinking warm in there.

He was, however, nice enough to let me feel up the material, and pose several times.

This was at the purple weirdness amorphosity of the SciFi Channel Booth this year.

Elvis Stormtrooper and Silent Bob

Sunday, September 24th, 2006

I gave up on fixtures (bother me if you really want to see the Jack Skellington statue upped). Now moving on to the costumes!

Elvis Stormtrooper himself would probably be one of the subjects of any Comic-Con scavenger hunt. Posing with Silent Bob (and a pretty good one, at that) was just a plus.

Next up: a really good Batman who I kind of stalked and then felt up his cape material at the Purple Wonder of a Sci Fi Channel Booth.
